Immigration Clinic

We are also excited to announce the return of our pro bono clinics —a nod to KABA’s roots, which began in 1992 with legal clinics.

In partnership with Korean Community Service Center (KCSC), KABA will be hosting monthly pro bono clinics to provide informational presentations and legal consultations to community members. Each clinic will focus on a different area of law, with more details to be shared in our upcoming flyers for the remainder of the year. This month, KABA and KCSC will hold an immigration clinic on May 31st at 10 AM, offering assistance with naturalization. We are currently seeking volunteer attorneys to help review N-400, Application for Naturalization forms. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact kabawaboard@gmail.com.

AAPI Joint MBA Judges Panel

May 2, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5p.m. at WSBA Conference Center

A panel of judges gathered via a collaboration with ABAW, SABAW, FLOW, SCBA, and VABAW. Attendees had the privilege of learning from our very own Judge John H. Chun (U.S. District Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington & KABA President Emeritus) and Judge Janet Chung (Court of Appeals Judge, Washington Court of Appeals, Division I) along with Justice Mary Yu (Justice, Washington Supreme Court), Judge Ketu Shah (Presiding Judge, King County Superior Court), and Judge Tana Lin (U.S. District Judge, U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington), who generously shared their insights, experiences, and reflections from the bench. It was a meaningful opportunity to hear from trailblazing judges who were among the first in Washington’s AAPI legal community to serve on the bench.

This event was also a wonderful example of the strength of unity among our affinity bar associations and the power of community. Thank you, Jordan Wada (ABAW President), Mario Cava (FLOW President-Elect), Chris Chang (KABA President Emerita), Joanne Kalas (VABAW President Emerita), Jae Pak (ABAW Community Liaison), Damong Pang (ABAW President-Elect), Michelle Pham (VABAW President Emerita), Odette Polintan (FLOW President), Sally Shi (SCBA President), Shashi Vijay (SABAW President), Sophie Ying (SCBA Board Member), Tricia Charfauros (UW Law Student & Moderator), and Mingyue Zhou (SU Student & Moderator) for making it possible.
